Neoprene

Neoprene is an extremely versatile synthetic rubber with more than 75 years of proven performance in a broad industry spectrum. It is noted for a unique combination of properties including:

  • resistance to degradation from sun, ozone and weather
  • outstanding physical toughness
  • resistance to damage caused by flexing and twisting

Phoenix neoprene spraydecks are made from the highest quality neoprene (100% CR) and come with different types of lining.

The durable nylon fabric (lining) is laminated to one or both sides of the neoprene rubber (single/double-lined neoprene).

Special X-Tuck material – a double knit, highly wear resistant nylon fabric – adds extra durability to Phoenix’ high performance products.

Shock Cord

The shock cords on Phoenix spraydecks range from 6mm adjustable shockcords for Sprint Decks over 8mm shockcords for composite boats to 9.5mm cords on Whitewater Decks.

All safety release straps on the spraydecks such as front loops and knee-off straps are bartacked and reinforced around the shock cord before the cord is sewn to the deck.

Latex

Latex is a hard wearing coating that can be added to either the inside or outside of any of our spraydecks.

Running around the edge of the deck, an exterior latex coating gives the spraydeck increased durability against damage from paddles, rocks or other boats.

Applied to the inside, the sticky surface provides more grip and a better seal against the cockpit rim to keep the paddler drier.

Twin Seal

The Twin Seal is an optional extra which replaces the standard body tube with two 1.5mm single lined neoprene body tubes to sandwich the paddling jacket.

The Twinseal is available on any spraydeck with a standard body tube.

Phoenix Neoprene Spraydecks is Europe's No. 1 neoprene spraydeck manufacturer since 1993 all Phoenix products are made with pride in Nottingham: The home of quality neoprene spraydecks!
